On today’s show were going to show you how to make a classic martini and there are lots of different ways to make this and it’s very debatable about what the proper recipe is. The first published recipe was in the 1888.
Now, a dry martini which is very little Vermouth or a sweet martini which is what we’re going to make today with little more Vermouth or if you want a perfect martini it’s a mixture of sweet and dry Vermouth. So today we’re going to start out with the glass, the cocktail glass, not a martini glass. You want to get it cold, put some ice in there, a little water, so I have prepared. We got our shaker tin, a little ice in that and of course grab your nice premium gin, an ounce and a half, there you go and your Vermouth about three quarters of an ounce.
For this type of martini, again very debatable now what you need is you stir that up, not a lot. You want to bruise the gin, stir, not shaking ironically James Bond orders a weak martini. I'm using a little tidbit for you and nice and cold, gently down the rim of the glass, of course no martini would be complete without your olive and there you have it a martini. Remember one thing that doesn’t mix with alcohol is driving. So have a great time but please don’t drink and drive. We’ll see you next time.
