Hi, I am Mike anyway with popsci.com. Today we are going to figure out away to do away with that problem by making a cell phone antenna out of cans.

So the first thing you need to do is take off the bottom of one of the cans because we are going to sold them together and make sure no one can continue cylinder so take your trusty can opener so get rid of that you get a nice clean ting there and put this together like so. If you do not feel like soldering you can also use copper tape to do this. Put a little solder on these seams and see if we can get this thing to actually hold together and just heat up the can and just lay down a bit of solder that covers both of the cans and it should hold together. See I am just using a lot of solder but it kind of drip in there in between and just to make sure these things hold together that is really the important part and the next step that you need to do with this is to put a whole and what we are going to put in the antenna parts. So what you want to do is measure nine-seven millimeters up from the close of and stab through cut out make yourself a nice clean hole. Once you go a hole in there, you going to need to prepare your antenna parts so that you are going to put inside wherein there is a little bit more soldering for that. This is the part that actually holds the antenna. The antenna in this case is really just a little piece of copper wire you can get this just by anywhere or radio shock. You might have just laying around the house and there is little receptacle forward in here and all you need to do is stick it inside that receptacle. Where going to heat up that parts and then we are going to just drop just a little solder into this with the hot parts what are actually melting the solder and not the iron itself. Now we have got our copper wire in there, that is the part do we need to go inside of the can because that is what is going to grab the cell phone signals. So really just take it stick it in. It should set flush against that little part you could see that is inside the can there sticking up. Now you need to reach inside the can and take this little knot that you bought and just screw it. Once you have screwed on that knot and kind of secure this well in place next thing you want to do is to take your pig tail, now this is the part that you bought specifically for your model of phone but everyone that you buy this is end is going to be the same. Really just a simple screw it on like that. Now you really got the basics in your antenna and all that is left to do is plug it on your phone your problem is where am I going to plug this under my phone, it does not work. For every phone actually has on a back of it a little rubber port like this and you have never reaped it off and seen what is behind it, what’s behind it is actually a place to plug in an external antenna. So the cell phone companies anticipated that there is there reception would suck and someday we have to do this. You see there is a little whole back there it fits perfectly of you bought the right one, plugs into there. Now all you got to do is take this thing around hold it outside your window one’s you have gone again the wirelessadvisory.com. It is going to be a map. It is going to show where the closest 1900 megahertz tower because the signal or caption what this sucker. Aim at that tower even if it is a long way to wait and you cannot see, you still going to get those frequencies make your calls your great reception and that is all there is to it .
