All right folks, Jonathan here. A few people ask me about a flight cases. Now first of all what is a flight case? Basically it is a box that you will put your expensive kitten and the whole idea of a flight case is, let us be honest you know you got a very expensive Turn Table or a CD player and the cats playing with the tri pod, the last thing you want to do is you know at the end of the night you would check it in the back of the car or the van and all of a sudden something falls over the top of your Turn Table and you got to knock it on or maybe a jog wheel that is something on it and it scratched. You do not want that to happen so of course what do you do, you want to buy a flight case but of course they are expensive. Why do you not make your own?
Now here you go, that is a flight case. In there I have got four weights and I made that my self. Now at the end of the day it is not the best flight case in the word and looks a bit rough but it does the job. Now here is my flight case, home made, very dodgy but did not cause much at all. At the end of the day it works. What you can see is you can see the top piece is covering all the side bents. As I pull the camera and we will take a closer look you will see exactly what I mean.
Like basically here you can see this is the top, now the top piece covers all of the side sections which are quite important. What we will do as well is at the end of this video I will give you not so much of a diagram as in the exact sizes but I will give you an idea of how you can construct one of this. Here is a deal, let me just pull that again, a lot of people actually think that again yeah alright logically with a flight case you got a bottom and a top because at the end of this there is no putting harming a box. Because you make you can not put anything in it but a lot of people think that you have to make the bottom and the top and there is a lot of messing around.
Whether you do or do not know this but I got a tip for you, brilliant idea, quit logical and fantastic concept and that is make a box. Make a top, bottom; four sides put them all together so you have a complete box. And then you think you might will how on earth are you going to get inside well of course if you think about it. If you made a top and a bottom separately then there is a possibility of them not fitting together. If you make a complete total not a box and then you can cut your top, however high or low you want it, you can even cut in half it does not matter. Then you know you got an exact matching top and bottom. There is just a tip for you, okay?
And also you will notice on this one here, we got this corner pieces right, now again at the end of the day your corners are going to get completely knocked if you hang off something from there. Now again you can get plastic corners that sack, you can get metal corners of sack. These guys are metal and you find this on a lot of Turn Table flight cases, ideally you need this, when I say need this, ideally metal ones because they will last for a lot longer.
Let us take a look inside of this thing. I do not know if you can see there but I got just some relatively simple clips there that basically just hold it in place if you can see just there. So of course open it, now if you think about it now, of course you got to have hinges on the back, now some flight cases you can have this to the blight and sometimes they are called butterfly clips. You can have them either side but I just got hinges on the back there but of course if you get normal hinges that you find on your door, trouble is then, you know that is going to always be stock on and you do not really want that. So what I have done, I got these hinges that is basically, if you can see that, you have just got almost like, that is not so much of a clip but they just hook on to the back of the actual flight case.
