I got full writing, it is a four mad stands. If you can see, I got a bit of thing there. Because logically, at the end of the day, in the back of the vinyl, the car, they will be jumping around all over the place. One of the important facts, and this, let us say that you ultimately want a flight case for, I do not know, 10 inches by 10 inches. Well, the last thing that you want to make a box where the inside dimension is 10 inches by 10 inches because what you are going to put in there is going to squeeze inside it is going to be scratched. So, you need to have some gap around the edges. That is very important.
Two ways. One, if you think about it now, if let us say that there is an accident and this flight case hits something and your item is right against the side here, you are going to have an impact straight on a little piece of kit. Now, there would be a little bit of sponge. You got a bit of roll over there and this sponge will take some of the impact. So ideally, make sure that you got a nice good gap around the item that you are going to put in there. And also, top and bottom as well, not just the sides. And also, you can here that I got a partition there as well. At the end of the day, it is all security and this particular partition here makes the box a little bit more sturdy as well. What we are going to do now, I will pause the camera, I am going to show you a couple of diagrams on ___ and everything like that. I am just going to give the basics of idea of construction. Hold tight.
Now, the actual easiest way of construction is relatively simple if you can understand the concept. If you imagine, I am going to construct there the sides. So, there is one side, like so, and there is the other side, like so. Now, the other pieces can fit in two ways. They can either fit like that or they can fit like that. Now the reason being is that if they were fitted like that, you would have a screw and you would screw that securely in that direction. Alternatively, if they fit that way, then you would have a screw fitting in that way and a screw fitting in that way. Now then, ___ as well, that is relatively flimsy. But here is the deal. Now then, if you can imagine that right, just forget all of it out there. If you can imagine now, we are looking at that sides. If then that I have a top piece, I will have the top piece fixed exactly on there like that and then I screw down into those pieces. Theoretically, that top piece is going to fit all of that together and make it really strong.
Now also, if you need to make a huge flight case you still think that it needs to be slightly stronger. Well, you cannot really see that there. But what you can get is that you can get these metal collar braces. I am going to basically shape it like this. Shape it like that. They got small screw holes. If you can imagine that there, all that you need to do is to fit, let us say two in each corner, one at that top and one at the bottom. So, one of those corner braces will go there, one there, one there, one there, and one there. At the top and at the bottom. Like I have said, there we go. Like what I have said, let us make our box like this. That is about right. So, there is our box.
Now, what we can do now is that you could cut that box like this across there and you got the top and the bottom. But also, what you can do as well if I can do this, let us have a look. Do it if you have a piece of paper on the top, let us get some more paper. This might be, hopefully, a little bit easier, so you can see. Let us have a look. Across there and across there like that. and then of course logically, on the other side, you will be cutting like that and then like that. So, there you go. So, you have made your box and then you can cut it accordingly. And then again, something like that for lights or maybe an amplifier, and then something like this, turntable, vinyl turntable, CD player. And again, what you are going to do is cut it around across there like so. That is basically it.
It is relatively simple to do. All that you need is that you need some screws, some corner pieces, some plywood, some glue and a bit of know how and a bit of time and a tape measure. I hope that this has been a help. If you want more information, give us an email, drop us an email. Or then again, just look on the web, flight cases, build your own flight cases. I am sure that there are plenty of sites out there. If I find some in the meantime, I will stick them in the description.
Thanks for watching. Practice and enjoy.
