Yuval: Hi! My name is Yuval and I will teach you today how to make a fresh Tomato Bruschetta. Basic ingredients we are going to use are fresh Italian white bread, fresh tomatoes whatever is the season, red and sweet, it's great, fresh basil, clove of garlic, olive oil and one shallot and just a few olives Kalamata or any kinds of green olives and salt and pepper.
Okay ready. Bruschetta basically needs to be sliced fairly thick, not too much. After being toasted, it's going to lose some of its thickness. Few drizzles of olive oil, one clove of garlic, slice it pretty thin. We are not going to use the whole thing, just as a flavor in the olive oil, some salt, little bit of fresh pepper, mix it up.
Typically a few taping just a touch of the olive oil is enough, you will get the flavor. It doesn't have to be soaked in. Okay, basically on a preheated oven on 350 and just for few minutes under the broiler will do it, no more than two or two three minutes will do that job.
Meanwhile the bread is in the oven. We are going to, we are going to do that tomato for that Bruschetta. That thing because Bruschetta, it's a finger food and you don't want to slice that tomato too big. Something in this size will do it, just as long as it too small to stick on the bread and not to fall over.
Next thing is the shallot. Again, the trick is to dice everything pretty small and olives. The olives are pretty salty. One is definitely enough, you can add some more salty flavor. Olive oil, salt, fresh ground pepper, mix it up.
Once it's mixed, let it sit down for a minute or two, give all the flavors a chance to kick in. Best thing to do is give it a minute to sit down and cool. You don't want to put then tomato mix on it while it's hot. Try to put a little bit of tomato on the bread, don't over do it, you want to keep in nice portion. Fresh basil for garnish and for flavor. I had these chops.
