All right, it’s Sean the Silver Fox. And I’ve had myself a fire steel made. And this is it. And I’ve been asked to do a video review of fire steel.
What we've had first of all made is a belt sheathe. So this fire steel can fit onto my belt quite comfortably. I can slide it out and it’s always ready to hand.
The steel is made from silver steel. It’s extremely good striking sparks against flint.
Okay? Now, I don’t know how you all are going to see this on the video but it’s a piece of flint, okay. So and we’ll just strike down as you can see it. Now that way you can see that. Can you see? Hopefully. And let’s try it this way around so we can get more strike. Okay, you can see shower sparks coming down. It’s excellent for making sparks.
On this side, you can see there’s a little bit of a fur sheathe. This is made from arctic fox fur and the idea of this is obviously during the winter months to make it more comfy to hold. What I'm able to do with the sheathe though is I'm going to slide this sheathe off, and you’ll see a brush. Now this brush tube just pops out like that and in here, I’m able to carry a decent size of char cloth. So with the char cloth, let’s take a small piece off, and my better flint.
Okay, now hopefully you can see that ember which is glowing. Now obviously what I'm doing is indoors, so I'm not going to make this grow any bigger than it is, I'm just going to stop this out.
All right, okay. That’s now out. Obviously don’t stop fire indoors but that was very, very small, very cool ember, so I put out my fingers, it’s not hot.
So there’s my Silver Fox fire steel with my belt sheathe. This items are made my Chris Grant. And you can find his website at makemethischris.co.uk.
Thank you very much.
