Pam: Hi! Welcome to Crafter Quickies we are going to show you fast fun and easy projects you can making in just a matter of minutes. My name is Pam and today on our special Halloween edition I’m going to show you how to make wreaths. It’s usually associated with Christmas but we love to decorate our house for Halloween all the time. Today I’m going to show you how to make this cute little monster wreath. His going to keep an eye on you and I like to call him Chuck.
The items you will need today are a foam wreath this one is 16 inches but you can get them smaller, foam fir depending how much size of black you are going to use make sure you have a three inch over hang for a larger size, I’m using about a 22 inch square. Ping Pong balls for the eyes, some common items that you will need are a glue gun and lots of glue sticks, scissors, a permanent black magic marker, and pens. Now let’s clear the table and get started.
So, I have my fabric it’s roughly about 22 inches, 16 for the wreath and few extras into the outside. I’m already put my lines on there but let me show how I did that. Take your wreath then your pen twist it roughly in the middle and outline the outside of the wreath. About three inches outside of that and the big X in the middle low get back to that it look like a balls eye. Now, that I have lines growing up I will start cutting starting the outer circle. Okay, I’ve got my outer circle and now remember when I say we get back to the middle? Will we did and I cut this so there flaps like so. Now, that I have everything cut up I’m going to decide where my eyeballs need to go. You are going to make sure that the lines are about inch and half that not too much longer than that otherwise eyeballs will stay in.
So now that I have all my eyeball lines on here I’m going to cut them up. You want to pick them up like so. It’s basically I’m going to full in cutting, again don’t cut it too much otherwise your eyeballs will stick in, do that all the way around. And fun firs little want to work with just to warn you and it goes everywhere. Now, that we have the lines cut we can put our ping pong balls involves in. If they have little labels on that make sure they’re facing you and not outside. When you push it through you like so, if you cut it more than an inch and half is going too slept through and not look like an eyeball. Take your glue gun and glue all around to let’s seals it up. Remember, this is going to take a lots, and lots of glue. Okay all my eyeballs are in and they’re dry, now remember let the hot glue dry otherwise will burn yourself.
It’s looks a little lumpy but what monsters are clumpy. Next, I’m going to put my wreath and set it onto the ping pong balls so it sets a little like that. I also grab my straight pens and take the middle, remember when we cut the middle and pin it to the wreath like so. So now that I have the inside the pen it’s time to do the outside. I am going to grab my scissors again and make tiny little cuts so when I’m pinning it up it goes a little bit smoother. You want to go about every 10 inches and go down about maybe an inch or inch and half. Now start pinning the outside, now see this is where this ones coming handy because it makes so lot easier to go onto a circle. Be careful when you’re pinning this not to pull too much on one side otherwise you’re other side will be too short and you will have to pin all over again.
Now that I pinned everything I’m going to hot glue it to the wreath, whole out the pin and put a little glue done on the wreath, a little glue onto the fabric and stick it. Now, you are going to use a lot of glue so make sure you have plenty of glue sticks do that all the way around. So I’m done gluing it and its all dry, now the fun part to make the eyeballs. Take your permanent magic marker and draw eyeballs whoever you want them. Just a little black dot for that’s all you need. And there we have it, our monster wreath.
