Jennifer Perkins: This year are you stamping on a really cute and a really creative costume
to make for your kids? I’m going to show you how to make a gingerbread
cookie and a zebra. Now this actually uses a whole lot of felt because this
costume is head to toe. I went to the fabric store and bought some brown
felt and then you want to lay your kiddo down the felt and you’re going to
trace them with either you know a fabric pencil or a marker just go all the
way around. You know leaving some extra around there legs and around
there arms and especially around there head so they look they kind of
cookieish.
And so you want to cut out two of these, this is actually two pieces of felt
sandwich together. I went all the way of the edges with the hot glue gun,
now on the front piece of your felt you want to be sure to cut out a circle
and where a little head is going to pop out. On the back here we need to
leave a space for them to jump in to there costume. We just hot glue gun
in to hook and loop tape and I actually just use the hook side. Because
your felt will stick right to an end, go back over it with some white craft
paint, fabric paint and just add little trimmings on there you know like you
will put icing on a gingerbread cookie to make it more realistic. We added
some fun little red buttons and we also is so this one for little girl add
some pearl necklace but you could wick this design any which way you
want them to make it also work for a little boy. Another option using the
same concept is to cutting an outline out with white felt and then come in
and use pieces of black felt to make this into a zebra costume. It’s so cute
and then you add little ears on top and he is ready for safari.
