Derek Meeker: Hi there, my name is Derek Meeker and I’m a senior Law School Consultant for admissions consultants; a consulting firm for aspiring the college, business, medical, graduate and law school applicants. Today, I’m going to be answering some questions about law school admission process.
Male: Is my transcript that important?
Derek: The transcript is one of the most important parts of the law school admission process. And it’s not just about grades, certainly the grades that you’ve earned are a significant factor in the admissions process but the admission committee is also going to be looking at course choices. Did you challenge yourself? Did you take classes from many different areas? So they’re looking at both the breath and the depth of the course work that you’ve done.
They consider the rigger of the curriculum, the rigger of the institution, they consider whether there’s great inflation at the institution and how much with the average GPA is for student’s 0052 institution. So there is a lot of analysis that goes into the transcript, all transcripts. Most emphasis is placed on the undergraduate curriculum but if you did attend to graduate under professional school, they’ll look at those courses as well.
