Four minutes for a pint of water. Compare that to stoves using other fuels. Typical is a quart in about a minute, and they are much safer and more convenient than this one.

Great music on this video. The stove featured here is a low-pressure side-burning style alcohol stove. It's one of the more simple alcohol stoves to build. Keep in mind there are many other more efficient easy-to-build styles of alcohol stoves. It is NOT a "hobo" stove, which burns wood. This stove is pressurized when the pot is placed on it and can be an efficient little stove with some experimentation to the placement and number of holes. It will not only burn denatured alcohol found in hardware stores but also fuel line antifreeze aka "Heet" found in most gas stations(methyl or ethyl alcohol). Rubbing alchohol (Isopropyl) will also burn, but poorly due to water content. For your safety and the safety of others-- keep in mind, as noted in the other comments, that alcohol burns cleanly and the flame can be difficult to see. Use caution with spills.

it's still your responsibility to be responsible. assuming that, it's perfectly safe. if you don't feel like you can safely refrain from kicking the flaming can, please disregard this tutorial and search "birth control methods".
