How to Make a Hydrangea Basket Arrangement

Hi! Sandy with Afloral and we’re going to talk about hydrangea and we’d like to make a hydrangea basket. Hydrangeas are an outdoor flower and they look beautiful arranged in baskets. So I’ve got this nice bunch and I’m going to cut it apart and arrange it into this basket. When yu have silk flowers, you want to make sure that you use all the leaves as well as the flowers because you pay for those. So we’ll take some of these, beautiful hydrangea stems with all the leaves on and place them directly into the basket.

I’d like to arrange with the number three because that keeps your arrangement round and generally, we’re sitting around the table. So I’ve put three in the middle and now, I’ll put three more at the bottom. You’ll notice when you’re looking at this how quickly this basket fills up because of the soilage on each of these flowers. So make sure if you get greenery on your flowers that you use it in your centerpiece or in your corsage or even with boutonniere.

Now, what I have left after I’ve put my six flowers around and I’ve used one little tiny bud up here at the top, I have some leaves left over. So we want to make sure that we’ve put those in as well. Especially being careful around the bottom of the basket because when people sit down, they’ll be looking at that area. And this is a beautiful natural looking centerpiece and it just took a few minutes and a few flowers. If you’d like to add something to it, you can always take a little white satin bow. These ribbon is very inexpensive and attach it to the handle, and I’ve got a wire on the back. You can attach it right to the handle or you can stick it in to the foam at the bottom of the basket and isn’t this a beautiful, nice centerpiece?
