How to Make a Longboard Fin

Foiling a plywood fin with surfboards Supplies: Scissors Paper Pencil Jigsaw Sanding blocks / Sandpaper ½” Plywood Orbital Sander or Grinder\ Clamps or vice Step 1: Draw fin template on paper. Step 2: Cut out template Step 3: Trace outline onto wood [if hardwood make sure grain is parallel with leading edge] Step 4: Cut out template with jigsaw. Step 5: Clean up outline with sandpaper Step 6: Secure fin with clamp or vice Step 7: Use grinder or orbital to make exit foil Step 8: Flip fin over and repeat exit foil Step 9: Repeat foiling process on both sides for entry foil Step 10: Finish sand the whole fin to smooth out the lines. Hand the fin to your glasser along with your shaped blank
