Anthony Caporale: Welcome to the Art Of The Drink video podcast. My name is Anthony Caporale, and once again I am with our Drinkart Girl for July, Melissa.
Melissa: Hi.
Anthony Caporale: How are you?
Melissa: I am great and I am here with you.
Anthony Caporale: So you might not known this about July, but it is National Picnic Month. We're going to do a Lemonade drink. D-Lemonade drink, Lynchburg Lemonade. Do you know why it's called Lynchburg Lemonade?
Melissa: I have no idea.
Anthony Caporale: Lynchburg, Tennessee which is the home of the Jack Daniel's distillery, Jack Daniel's American Whisky. Most people don't know Jack Daniel's is actually not Bourbon, Jack Daniel's is Tennessee whiskey. So Lynchburg Lemonade, you got to make with Jack Daniel's and that's where the name of the drink comes from.
So I like it in a nice big tall laminated glass, all the way to the top with ice and I am going to start with Jack Daniel's, Tennessee Sippin’ Whisky, one ounce, and then I am going to add to go with the whole lemonade citrus thing, one ounce of triple sec which is a citrus liquor, one ounce of sour mix.
Now I am going to take this, roll this into my tin, and I am going to shake it up a little bit. Just want to prop it up, just a little bit, cool it down a little bit, and you can see I've kind of added some volume. Now, I am going to take lemon lime soda, Sprite, 7 UP or whatever you like all the way to the top, and I am going to garnish this with some fresh lemon. Squeeze a fresh lemon, drop it right in and my straw. The Lynchburg Lemonade, perfect picnic drink.
Melissa: Perfect summer drink.
Anthony Caporale: Yeah. You want to make it?
Melissa: Sure.
Anthony Caporale: Aright.
Melissa: Good?
Anthony Caporale: Beautiful.
Melissa: Jack Daniel's, one ounce.
Anthony Caporale: Yeah. One ounce of Jack Daniel's starts it off. Great.
Melissa: Triple sec?
Anthony Caporale: Triple sec, citrus liquor. It's about half as much alcohol as a standard liquor, and then sour mix one ounce, beautiful. Now into the tin, and the reason we do this before we put the soda in this because the soda is carbonated and we never want to shake anything that's carbonated because it will make the tin pop off, the cover of the drink.
Melissa: Okay.
Anthony Caporale: Oh, fantastic. Then some soda, lemon lime soda all the way to top, and it's about four ounces or so of soda, and your garnish. Get that lemon juice right in there. That fresh lemon flavors wakes up the whole drink.
Melissa: When it went inside it.
Anthony Caporale: Right, absolutely.
Melissa: And here we go.
Anthony Caporale: You want to go to picnic spots?
Melissa: Under the trees, in the shade.
Anthony Caporale: Let's go.
Melissa Alright.
Anthony Caporale: Salute.
