Welcome to Common Man cocktails, I’m your host Derrick Schommer.
This week we’re going to do sex on the beach. It doesn’t really very good. We’re going to make a sex on the beach. It’s going to involve an ounce of alcohol, next are these two main ingredients. We’ve got the peach schnapps, some Christiana vodka, cranberry juice, orange juice and Dole pineapple juice, everything you need, all kinds of juices. It’s going to be very healthy for you. So, let’s get started.
We’re going to do one and a half ounces of vodka. You’ve got a popping sound out there. That’s when you know you got high quality bottle of vodka when it pops. This is going to be put into a high ball glass; you could see that right here. That’s a high ball glass that already got ice in it. It starts to melt but we’ll do what with we’ve got.
We’re going to do one and a half ounces of peach schnapps, both these are clear liquids so all the color is going to come from all the juices, it’s going to be like a brown color. Two ounces of our juices, so I’m going to need that again, just two of each. All 100% fruit juices so we know we’re safe from whatever you put in here, you get 100% artificial colors and flavors, I guess. Two ounces of orange juice, two ounces of pineapple juice, I love pineapple juice. That will fill your shaker to the max. It’s probably unlike a little more that what we have in our high ball but it’s okay, shake it up, nice and cold pour it out, and remedy the drips. There you go now, you can garnish anyway you like, some people use lemons. I guess you could use some cherries, some lemons or maraschino cherries.
This smells like peaches, very light. I think the pineapple juice kind of makes it light. It’s creamy even though there’s nothing anything here that should give it a thickness. Maybe all the juices together do that, not really getting a lot of alcohol. There’s a kind of after taste of rum but there’s no rum in here so I think it’s just the way that the peach schnapps is working with the vodka since the vodka itself doesn’t have a lot of flavor. You're not really getting any alcohol. It’s kind of dangerous.
If you’re looking for something like a Long Island iced tea, I think this is a much more tropical beverage, much tastier with like no alcohol. It’s a little lighter because you are outweighing the alcohols with six ounces of juice so a healthy alternative maybe.
