How to Make a Model Junkyard Car's Engine and Body
After the gluing the two pieces of engine together, I want to get rid of this junction. You
can see, I have marked here in black. So, to do that, I'm going to use a file tool. You
actually see here right on my desk on a piece of sanding paper. So, at first, I take the file
tool and very gently, very gently sand the junction way.
This is how the engine should look like for painting. As you can see up here, are the
cylinders visible. Some pistons are farther up than the other three, which are just too far
down so you kind of really see them. So, in reality, the cylinders are only then visible
when the cylinder head is gone. So, as you can see, I’ve got this part of the engine in
order to make the cylinders visible.
To get rid of those imperfections here marked in red, get a bit of sanding paper and just
make it wet with some water, and smoothly sand those areas. You will see how the
imperfections go easily away. And well, in the areas that are a bit hard to get, fold the
sanding paper just like this and just sand the little corner there very smoothly.
