Hi, Stephen Philips host of the Great Cocktails. I'm going to show you how to make a magical Mexican Margarita in just one minute, okay.
We start by filling our mixing glass with ice then add an ounce and a half of tequila. Now most people use Blanco Tequila but I prefer the stronger flavor of a medium ace tequila or Reposado. About an ounce of Triple Sec an orange flavored liquor and a half an ounce of fresh lime juice, going to squeeze that in.
Now, let’s shake, shake, shake that up. Shake it up for about 20 to 30 seconds glass of cold and then we’re going to strain it into our salt rimmed glass. Add a garnish, how is that for fast and simple. The one minute Margarita, that’s delicioso for a modern spin on this Mexican master piece, let’s back up to the beginning and made it six blackberries and 10 mint leaves in the bottom of our shaker. Then add our ice, an ounce and a half of tequila, an ounce of lime juice and instead of using Triple Sec, let it an ounce of plain simple syrup. Shake, pour and garnish, put the remaining two blackberries. We have the Hungry Cat Restaurant in Hollywood to thank for this blackberry mint margarita, a truly great cocktail.
