Female 1: Hey there tread heads with spring showers officially here. If you do not have any cool raingear you are going to a little saggy.
Male: This week lesson comes in from a viewer transmission sent in from Lucille.
Lucille: Hey tread heads, Lucille here from the foreign out rolling house in Nebraska and you know what they say April shower bring me flowers. And of course it is rainy here. Can you please do an episode on rainy here because I am so dreary and the weather it is making me sad it is suppose to be spring so can you please do something to brighten up my day.
Male: So we are going to take an old shower curtains and show you how to turn into some slick spring time raingear.
Female 1: First some basic vital sewing tips using your regular sewing machine with no special attachments. You will need nylon thread. I am using transparent. Some tissue paper and leather needles for sewing machine. Change out your machine’s needle threads a bobbin and set you stitch like to three or higher. Place the tissue paper between the vinyl and the few so the vinyl does not stick and start sewing. Be careful not to sew on the same spot more than once or it will weaken and rip easily. When you are done tear the tissue paper away.
Female 1: It is Poncho time. If you are using an old shower curtain make sure to wash it really good first. I highly recommend some of the anti mold cleaner Meg made a few weeks back. Okay, now, measuring and cut it 55 inches wide by its existing length which measure about 67 inches. Cut off any seems and draw a 12 inch line parallel to the bottom seem in the exact middle of the rumpus, cut along the line. Take out the extra piece you cut off fold it in half right sides together and draw a hood shapes starting form the fold. Cut it out and sew a seem along the back curve. Next, take out the body section and cut it two inch in the middle of one side of the head hole. Fold in the flops and pin the hood inside the hole. It helps to try on the couple times to make sure at least right.
Now, sew it on making sure to sew all the way around the hole and you are now prepared for all those spring showers.
All right Lucille, hopefully that helps brighten up your day. When we return more tread heads.
