Hi! I’m Sandy with Afloral and we’re going to make a round centerpiece today. I started with a design bowl. It has little—on the bottom, so when you put your foam in it will adhere quite nicely. If you wanted to ensure that it’s going to, you can put a little hot glue on the bottom. I have a little hot glue on that and press that right into your bowl. You can also tape it in.
Today, we’re going to use the hot glue. So I have some dry flower foam and my round designed bowl, and I’ve chosen some beautiful gardenias and stephanotis to make this centerpiece out of. I might add some roses too.
We’ll start with focal flowers and those are your largest flowers. And for those I have some gardenias and we’re going to use three because three will make something round. So we’ll start with three gardenias in the middle of our centerpiece. I’m using the largest flowers in the center. Then in between the first three, we’ll put three down lower near the base of your design.
After you have the gardenias in, then you can add another flower. And today, I have selected some small white roses. Again, we’ll put the three in, in between each gardenia at the bottom, and three in the center in between each gardenia. So now we have six gardenias and six roses. We need a little something in the center and this doesn’t quite fit in with our scheme of three but I have some beautiful stephanotis. And this will be a nice filler flower so we could start with one in the center and then several pieces around the outside. Six at the bottom and three in the center.
This is beautiful stephanotis. It has jewels in the center of it so it looks quite fancy. So to regroup, we have six gardenias and six roses and then we’re going to fill in with some stephanotis starting with one at the top, six pieces around the bottom, and three in the center.
When you’re done with this, if you think it doesn’t look quite full enough, you need to add a little bit more greenery. And I have some that I cut off the stems that we’d used. So I still have some pieces of gardenia leaves. We can put those in. These are pieces of the stephanotis stem. We’ll use those. It’s important to use the greenery of the stem because you’ve paid for that.
The greenery is made out of the same material that the flowers are and you pay a lot of money for that greenery. So make sure you’ll use that up in your centerpiece. These are the buds from the gardenia. So we want to put those in as well. And there you go, very easy, very quick. Good luck and have fun.
