Today, I'm going to tell you how to make my version of a Rum Runner. Now, traditionally this is made as a blended drink in a blender. I like to crush the ice, it gives it kind of a slushy taste and consistency. So, I kind of like that.
So, we're going to start out with a Collins glass, and your shaker tin. Now, I am going to put some ice in your shaker tin. I've already done that. We'll get your muddler, which is used for crushing them. Give it a little bit of crushing, it takes a little bit of effort. So, I've already pre-crush that, comes out like little slushy as you can tell. There we go, little more, there we go.
Now, ice off your shaker tin, we'll start with the alcohol. We have got a really nice Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, a very unique taste, very popular; I hope you're going to like that.
So, we would start out with three quarters of an ounce, there we go. And give it the way, the buyer would do it and normally, we use Blackberry liqueur. I like using Raspberry liqueur, the Chambord, it just has a nicer taste. So, I like to just use this, about a quarter ounce, roughly and Banana liqueur, another quarter ounce. There we go.
Add about 4 ounces of orange juice, there we go. Never forget the grenadine, which is our red sugar water, it adds all the sweetness to it. Then shake it up, nice and cold and have your strainer, there we go, and pour over the crushed ice. It's a nice looking drink, there you go.
Finish up, garnishing with an orange and a straw, a little stir. Now, if you can notice when you get a shot here, gradually the liquid kind of comes down and goes around the crushed ice. It's a very nice drink, I hope you're going to enjoy that. Remember, driving is the one thing that doesn't mix with drinking.
So, play safely, we'll see you next time.
