How to Make a Simple Paper Airplane with a Tail

We will start with the plain 8-1/2 x 11 inch sheet of paper. Fold the paper in a half, hotdogs style, down the middle. Fin unfolds the paper and we will use the crease as a guideline. Fold the top corners in towards that middle crease we have just made.

Starting from the newly made lengths, fold in towards the middle again. Now fold the sheet in a half along the original crease. Now, we are going to fold down each flat from the opened end to the close end. Just a quick remember, be sure to make strong creases on every fold.

When you are done with both sides, it should look a bit like a necktie. Now, lift up those flips and we have got your wings. You are pretty done, but we are going to add one extra step. Take a pair of scissors and cut a slick about 1 inch at 3 cm from the back edge of plain. Take the little flip we have just created and evert it by pushing it up. Our plain now has a tail. You can experiment with different types and angles on the tail because that will change how to plain flies.
