Scott Sicari: Sometimes you have to look at things from a different point of view in order to
see a kitchen backsplash on its different and exciting. The shimmering metallic
sheets reflect light from all angles and throw back sparkle that will really set you
kitchen apart. So I’m cutting squares from our bigger sheets here and this is really
easy in this case because the limes are already there and then we’re going to make
a checkered board pattern using our two different color blues which I think I
create a really nice effect.
Alright this might be the easiest tile installation of this sheets or just peel in stick
so it really doesn’t get much easier than that. We’re going to leave about an eight
inch in between tiles to create our own foe grout line. Now if you can’t do this by
eye you can run a chalk line and make sure you keeping yourself level. These
materials are very durable it’s actually use of signage mostly so it’s use outside
and can we stand the elements so it should have no problem in your kitchen. So
when we get to an area like this we’re just going to cut around the outlet with the
box cutter and obviously just the very carefully not touching any wires. Now we
are going to add some flex with our vinyl tiles, this is just going to help protected
and keep it waterproof and also runs just sort of a nice finishing designer touch.
We are going to attached the flexi with the galvanize screw with the granite on
top just for a little extra touch. Ordinarily this metallic vinyl is use on billboards
to join the attention of passing motors but it’s your backsplash that’s demanding
the attention now.
