How to Make a Stained Glass Window Part 3 Plan your stained glass window design on a piece of sketch paper. To make your stained glass window more realistic, add divisions to make paints. Be sure to go over your lines a few times so they’re nice and dark. Place the scratch light dull side up on a table and place the transfer paper on top of it. Place your sketch paper on top of the transfer paper. Being careful to hold your sketch in place, trace over all of the lines of your sketch. Once you have transferred your entire sketch to the scratch light, begin carefully scratching away the black inside the lines you just made. Be careful to scratch away only the black that’s covering the glass and not the black that’s acting as leading. If you scratched away too much black, you can put some black using a black marker. This trick only works for small areas so don’t get carried away. Enjoy!
