Thanks for watching fixmyrecipe.com, I’m Chef Billy Parisi and our new fix goes to Ryan of—we don’t know either but he submitted a recipe to us for Stromboli. He said his mom use to make it for him when he was a kid. It has no cool way to start now. Don’t worry Ryan, we got your fix coming right over.
Ryan, the first thing we need to do is to cook our Italian sausage so in a hot skill, let’s go ahead and get that in there until it is completely cooked. At that point, we’re going to take the sausage out, set it aside, and there’s still going to be some nice fat in the bottom from that sausage. We’re going to pour in these pepper and onions, get those nice and caramelized.
All right while those vegetables are caramelizing, this is a perfect time because we need to roll out our pizza dough. If you don’t know how to make pizza dough, be sure to check out my video under snacks at fixmyrecipe.com. So let’s go ahead and lay down some flour, roll it out. Well the first thing we’re going to do is spread roasted garlic all over. And if you don’t know how to make roasted garlic, see how to do it under our palm video, that’s also under snacks.
All right Ryan our roasted garlic is spread all over this pizza dough, now we need to lay down our meat, cheeses, vegetables, and fresh herbs. Also, be sure to leave one to two inches between our ingredients and the edge of the dough.
All right, now what to do with that space between our ingredients and the edge of our pizza dough, well first we need to make an egg wash. That’s one ounce of water to one egg yolk, beat it real low. We’re going to brush that whole outside so our dough sticks together very nicely. We’re going to roll it up, pinch the ends, and on a sheet pan, lie with parchment paper and a little bit of non-stick spray. Don’t forget to brush the top but it washes well.
Go in the oven, 400 degrees for about 25 to 30 minutes. After being in the oven for 25 minutes, we’re going to sprinkle little parmesan cheese right on top. It’ll go back in the oven for another five minutes, brown this cheese up real nice.
Ryan, there is so much flavor in this Stromboli. I know you really had no cool where to start, this is where you need to start. You are going to love your brand new Stromboli fix.
Ryan, once again, thank you so much for writing in. If there’s any other recipes you remember as a child but don’t know how to make, please submit it my way. Don’t forget to come back tomorrow and see our new featured fix of the day.
