Scott Sicari: For a kitchen fun backsplash we are installing a magnetic laminate that serves
multi purposes. It is overloaded with the collection of magnets, your utensil hook,
recipe clips that even doubles as a dry raise board. This project calls to use your
own personality; you can use tons of store magnets or even make your own.
Alright so we’ve cut a template for a backsplash for our magnetic laminate and
we’re ready to actually glue the two pieces together. I’ve use some snips to cut the
metal and we have that piece in here and we are just now going to spray some
laminate with pieces to both sides. The front side our template and the backside of
our laminate, so this adhesive is actually contacts cement which means that both
sides get sprayed and you allow to dry for a few minutes. The bind form when
they actual two sides come together. And now we can install this with more
backsplash.
And now we need some images for our magnets you can inspired by anything and
I am going to try to inspired by my crew, let’s see what we’ve got. Will we lunch,
tandoori chicken smile, making magic very good. And you can be creative some
of your favorite foods make great magnets. Alright so we are going to make some
magnets now, we have our pictures that we took, we have them laminated at a
local office supplies store and we have this magnetic, just plain magnetic sheets
that you can get online or at the local shop. Then we are just going to use contacts
them it on both side on the back of the picture and also on the front of the magnet.
You are going to just add your picture and the laminated surface to make this
really to clean and just like that you have a homemade magnet. Alright so we’ve
installed our magnetic board with some construction adhesive and it is set to go
we are already to have some fun. Whatever you decided to put on this backsplash
is sure to reflect the changing phase of your life and of course your magnetic
personality.
