I’ll start by cutting pictures of objects that start with different letters of the Alphabet from you magazines. For example, you could cut out a picture of shoes for the letter S, a frog for the letter F or an airplane for A.
As you’re cutting out the pictures, beyond the look out for big pretty letters that you can cut out to go with your pictures. Don’t worry if you can’t find every letter. You can always draw them in with your paint pens or cut them out of construction paper.
Take at least seven sheets of construction paper and layer them on top of one another. Carefully fold the construction paper in half. You now have the base for your ABC Book.
Decorate the pages however you like. You can cut them into cool shapes, or leave them square. On each page, glue a letter of the alphabet and the magazine pictures that start with the same letter. If you want to glue multiple sheets of construction paper together to make multicolor pages, add sheets so that you still have enough pages for all 26 letters of the alphabet.
To get the most out of your construction paper, you can glue the negative space that you cut away from some pages, and glue them to other pages.
Decorate the cover of your ABC Book with the letters A, B, and C. You can cut these letters out of magazines, draw them with paint markers, cut them out of the construction paper or any combination you’d like.
To bind your ABC Book, place a long piece of yarn in the center of the book. Bring the ends around to the spine and then tie them together.
Have fun with your ABC Book.
