Wally Kern: Hi! This is Wally Kern, couple number of geckos downstairs that need something to climb on in their enclosure like a wall. So I am taking a trick that a friend shared with me recently. I have gone out and purchased a number of tiles from a home depot store and what we are going to do is break these tiles up and put them in the enclosures, be right back.
Okay we've moved from the garage to outdoor on our front step. What I am going to do is stand on the edge of this piece of tile and notice the snow, it's a little bit cold out here so we are going to hurry up and get this done. I am going to stand on the edge of the tile and Tim, my son is going to hit the edge and hopefully we get a couple of three or four pieces that we can put into the enclosures.
So I am right in the edge here and Tim go ahead and hopefully you try to miss my toes and there we go. We have got four five big pieces here and got to go inside and set them up.
After cutting the ceramic pieces we're ready to put them in the tank, I've set up this Williams tank which is an Australian Gecko, with a peat sand bottom; I have added some water, make it little bit clumpy. What I am doing here is just adding the pieces of the ceramic tile. I will go ahead and add some other pieces here, putting in a piece of cork bark and then finally just some plastic plants for the animal to hide in.
We'll put in a water dish and a food dish and we'll be all set with this enclosure. But you can see that this ceramic piece gives the animal something to climb on. This is climate. This is Wally Kern with Supreme Gecko showing you how to use ceramic tile as climbing walls.
