When people find that I do origami they always ask for one of three folds the crane, the paper cup or this thing. Well that thing is called the fortune teller or sometimes cootie catcher and I'll show you how you make it. We're going to start with a blank space. Fold your square in half to form a rectangle, crease and then unfold.
Fold in half from the other direction, crease and then unfold. Now, fold the corners of your square and towards the middle. You'll notice I'm using plain office paper that's been cut into a square that so I can color and write on my fortune teller when it's done.
Okay, here is our blank space. Now flip it over and fold the corners of the square in towards the middle just like we did before. From here we're going to valley fold that horizontals like so. And now we will mount and fold along the two diagonals. Pop in the middle and fold it all together.
Slide your fingers into the open ends at the bottom and you have your fortune teller. From here you can decorate however you like. There is lots of variation on these fortune teller. Some people names, numbers. Here I've used colors. Okay, let's give it a try. Pick a color, I like blue; B-L-U-E.
Pick another color. Let's do blue again. Okay, let's see, you'll have good tuck. That must be a typo. Let's try a different color. You'll have good tuck. Okay, let's try one more wait a minute. I don't even know what tuck is but apparently I'll have it. I never like these things anyway.
