It seems like these days everybody is trying to come up with “variations” on some particular cocktail, Pomegranate Martinis, Raspberri Manhattans, Strawberry Mojitos… you get the point. If a drink is a Manhattan, call it a Manhattan, if it isn’t don’t. Case in point, the “Monte Carlo”.

How to Make the Monte Carlo Cocktail

And in today’s episode, we focus on the Monte Carlo cocktail. Welcome to the Cocktail Spirit in Small Screen Network, I'm your host Robert Hess. Now, in the Monte Carlo cocktail, it’s extremely simple. It’s almost like a Manhattan because you're using a whiskey, sweet ingredient and bitters. This case we’re going to use dry whiskey. Two ounces of that. And then for the sweetening ingredient, we’re using Benedictine, which in addition to having sweetening aspect to it, it’s got a bunch of herbs and spices as well. And we’re using half ounce of that. And a couple of dashes of Angostura bitters. And that’s all there is to it. You add your ice. Stir to chill. And we strain to our cocktail glass. And there we have the Monte Carlo cocktail.
