Lisa Quinn: A living room is done, from start of that is a little bit of challenge with the bed
and turning to what I think is a lovely family room. I hope the family enjoys it for
the years to come. Our family room is finally complete but before we show you
the finish product let’s take one last look at the way it was at the beginning our
show. A very typical family room especially if you have small kids, there is a lot
of toys lying around and mix match furniture and not a lot of color and not lot of
Caucasian, they’re really a lot to work with a beautiful fireplace, lots of nice big
window and big open space and beautiful hardwood floors. So take a look at what
we are able to do with it, we’ve made some big changes in here and just a couple
of days and for not a whole lot of money.
Let’s talk about some of the elms that we put together to get this look. First of all
paint, decide to pull the paint colors from the fireplace, this fireplace is a big focal
point in the room and there is a lot going in here, we’ve gone with the color that
was completely different from this, I wouldn’t flash, it wouldn’t look cluttered it
wouldn’t look great. So what I did is I literally got my killing more color fun laid
it up and pulled colors from here for the rest of the room. It’s really a very
inexpensive easy way to get a lot of Caucasian fast in the room. Joe from Busty
painting as usual came into the great job and makes it huge difference. As for the
furniture pretty much that rid of them all. We replace everything we’ve got rid of
that big oversize sofa with the big rolled arms and its place a winding this curl
stead sofa. I love this one because it’s so modular, you can pretty much get any
kind of combination for any needs you might have. In this case we got a sofa with
the sheds but you can get a love sit, you can get a sofa so where the sheds is
we’ve done here you can get the sectional and they also come in a lot of different
slit covered patterns and colors which are great for variety but more importantly,
especially if you got kids or you’ve got kids sleep to this are so important and this
going to last in the long time.
But let say, somebody pops hold it or somebody picks it sharpie to it what I got to
do is run back the idea in another slit cover and you know it’s going to fit
perfectly. You could even get different slit covers for different times a year and
maybe lighten up in the summer, dark in up in the fall and it’s really all up to you.
Now the reason I decided to go with this particular combination for few reasons.
When you sit over here we decided to use a foot stool instead of a proper coffee
table and the reason being you can pull this over here and then mom and dad both
have a place to sit and watch TV but you can also use as coffee table if you
bringing a tray like we’ve done. But even more importantly your home are really
warning where the kid entertaining and you need more sitting so this will make a
perfect place for someone to sit when you are having bigger parties.
So I have to bring here even more sitting over here that is little winter chair, its
light, its modern and you can move in around fairly indestructible and perfect
taste for this room. Television use to be up on the wall and now we are decided to
flunk it with a lot of furnishings over it at the bottom and you are going to time
the place for all you DVR, your VHS on the sides we’ve got close door storage
which is so important and we’ve got a little things and to making our room for
clutter now you can hide them behind your storage. With this particular doors as
you can see there glass but they allow to put a piece of fabric in the back and what
you guys don’t know is in the room right over there, there are curtains are made
out of the exact fabrics. So now we are going to pull this room together with the
all the other rooms on the house together too is a really fun project and I love the
way this room turn out but more importantly we want to find out with so we enjoy
think of any family room.
So guys what do you think in your living room? Do you like it? A big different
and we are a little nervous when we saw the paint but we’ve just love it. It’s not
the first time when someone been nervous about my paint choices and it does it
takes a little bit of this to think okay that all but you like it now? I’m so gland and
not we really we have still kind of the same colors you had here before but we
have just to reverse them we kind to put a color that you had in the curtains and
on the upholstery on the walls and brought a neutral colors and with some of the
furnishing so anyway I’m glad you like. Do you think you maybe all have some
fun in here in better? That’s a bigger sofa and that’s the bigger TV watch in sofa
and we’ve got meant for you now too. Well there are some extra sitting too when
you do have the parties and I think that was where this Arling wood come in to
