How to Makeover a Living Room

Lisa Quinn: Barbara’s living room is finally complete but before we show you how it looks right now, let’s takes one last look at the way it was at the beginning of our show. Barbara’s unhappy with here living space it was blend and it was dull and it wasn’t very inviting ended that the fact that she’s in the real property and with wall paint so she was hoping that we could bring some color and some interesting with the room without having to paint. Well check it out, we have made in here and we’ve change in here and paint is usually a huge part of our makeovers and we haven’t needed this week to make all over of our big changes. Let’s talk about some of the things that we did, we cap most of here furniture if you remember this sofa, the chair back and that was all in the room before and it was looking kind a blend but the way we spice it up was to bring in a lot of color and a lot of accessories through text tiles and throw pillows. What we did is we rank and got these curtains first. They’re great and they add a lot of contrast because they’re dark and they also have this great pattern which add texture and once again though it’s got color so we pull all the colors from this curtains into the room and that’s what keeps it balance and looking more interesting. The green that you see in the leaf here we pull that into the room using this throw pillows and using this stripes and it wrap it down here and also and just the greenery that we’ve brought in with plants. We also pulled little bit of the brown onto this sofa because it’s a big day of your sofa and it needs something that we can adjust it up a little bit and also got that nice little zig-zag over throw over there and I think the biggest thing we did though in the room is pull everything away from the walls, barb head and everything just snob around and was left this sort of dance floor effect in the middle and it’s a common thing and lot of people do that. They think they had to have to huge room to pull the furniture close but this is about an average size room and it’s a whole lot cozier and now you’ve got a conversation area between the sofa and the photon over here and a great better view of the television. The few pieces of furniture that we did bring in or from the mark or line of IKEA it’s got a nice country traditional look, its got a dark finish but the pine here adds just another layer of texture. See, everything in IKEA is not super modern and super Swedish. They’ve go a pretty big range that can suit just about any place. I think we pulled up wonders in this room especially not being able to paint and I hope barb or grease and we are going drive in here right now she was to thinks, come on in Barb what do you think? Barbara: Oh my god I never thought it would look this good. I mean I have all faith with you but I didn’t think my living room could look so amazing this is so great. Lisa Quinn: I have to admit it was even amazing to me that we could pull out such change to that paint. Barbara: Yeah. Lisa Quinn: I’m always nervous when we can’t paint especially with the TV show we like to make a big dramatic change but I think we did it here. Barbara: Yeah for sure I mean the color that you put is perfect and I didn’t think that did know what to put with such you know light colors and two of the colors with the same right and you did perfectly. Lisa Quinn: Well I think the dream home came really fold it together this week and it’s a little bit cozier, it’s a little bit more inviting and some too much color but it’s interesting now. Barbara: So interesting and I can actually hang out and relax. Lisa Quinn: It’s nice. Barbara: It doesn’t feel like I’m far away from things. Lisa Quinn: Yes. Barbara: It’s got actually the dance floor in here, yeah thank you for doing that I can talk to people when they come over rather there feeling so far away. Lisa Quinn: Well awesome, you are fun to work with and I hope you enjoy your room. Barbara: I do. Lisa Quinn: And I hope your landlords happy to with paint. Barbara: They’re going to love it; they’re going to hang out here.
