How to Manage Household Finances
Audra Lowe: Welcome back everybody its time for hot topics and I’ve got my girl here
Maribel Aber Better’s financing career expert good to have you back.
Maribel Aber: Great to be here.
Audra Lowe: Thanks for sticking around. I always shave to talk to you about money
especially money management when you’re here we got to do it and we
talked earlier in the show about a survey by find law.com and they
surveyed a merry people and found out who handled the hot hustle
finances more so than the other. it’s the women, more so the women now
than the men and they also found that younger women are the most
financial savvy when it comes to their money 18 to 34.
I thought that was an interesting age range but I want to know what you
think about that and is it because we’re more educated now at this point of
time?
Maribel Aber: I think we have to be and I think more women are actually their working
and providing for the household so I think that younger age range doesn’t
really surprise me so much because there’s so much, women are so much
more independent these days and in terms you know managing you know
the finances of the home that doesn’t surprise me either because you
would think about it you know who’s making a decision about what the
car is you’re going to buy.
Audra Lowe: Purchases yeah that’s true.
Maribel Aber: Who is making those really big decisions about the furniture about all that
kind of thing, all the big ticket times, its really women so that doesn’t
really surprise me.
Audra Lowe: A lot of people think that people just go spend the money but there’s a lot
of women that actually do management as well right?
Maribel Aber: Yes that’s interesting and its good news too because for so long we’ve
been drilling that point home about knowing what’s going on you’re your
money don’t wait until its too late to figure it out right.
Audra Lowe: Okay this is a little fun story, still talking about money as well too. Did
you know blonde women earn 7% more money than brunettes or red heads
do. Yes, and they tend to marry men who earn 6% more than the
husband’s of other women. Now you and I obviously there are two
brunettes.
Maribel Aber: Yes I’m just going to say.
Audra Lowe: Hold on listen to this apparently billionaires are more likely to marry
brunettes. Now I kind of sort of have a theory it might be a little off but
I’m curious to know what you think about that and why?
Maribel Aber: Wow, I mean I can only speak for myself I feel you know.
Audra Lowe: Here’s a thing there’s a difference also between a millionaire and a
multimillionaire and I think that because if you say millionaire nowadays
its common place it’s much more common place than it was before. This
is what I think that a lot of times guys come into money and they become
a millionaire they want a woman that’s blonde and that they can take a
round and you know brag to their boyfriends or girlfriends whoever it is
about who they’re dating right or who they’re marrying.
Maribel Aber: That’s interesting.
Audra Lowe: But when you become a billionaire or you are a billionaire already that’s
some serious money right there and I think that some men might take
brunettes more seriously or think that they would take their finances more
seriously. I don’t know it could be completely off the mark but that’s just
my initial reaction.
Maribel Aber: I like that theory. I often asked if you would— if you change the hair color
from blonde to brunette would you still think she’s pretty?
Audra Lowe: Oh interesting. It depends on the guy too because when you’re talking
about billionaires look at I think Bill Gate’s wife is a brunette I believe she
is but then you also look at Donald Trump, she’s brunette but Tiger that’s
different so it depends I guess on the guy but its very interesting as to who
picks you.
Last but not least before we go Olivia Newton John’s ex-boyfriend you
know sir Patrick McDermott was missing. He’s found alive Mexico
dateline hired a private investigator and found him. He’s chilling in
Mexico says he wanted to be bothered.
Maribel Aber: Stop it.
Audra Lowe: He is alive yes that’s our know you didn’t story of the day so he’s alright
everybody is looking for him.
Maribel Aber: Wow.
Audra Lowe: Yeah that’s it that’s all we have to say on that one. Good to have you back
Maribel.
Maribel Aber: Good to be back.
Audra Lowe: Then you’re going to talk about that we’ll be back in a minute.
