My name is Devorah Yoshiko Dometrich. This is Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Shinko Kai, Beikoku Sou Honbu. The purpose of this instruction is to give you the basic fundamental movements of Ryukyu Kobudo.
Today, we are going to cover the Bo techniques, we are going to do Bo Kihon. First of all we are going to start in jujitsu Kamai.
Kamai means, make ready position. You can see where the Bo is hanging, laying on the forearm, that is to allow you to be able to hide this from your opponent. He can't see how long it is so that if you need it, you can come out very quickly.
So in Kamai here, we are going to do a basic exercise which is Chudan Uke. I am going to push down and do a regular Chudan Uke. It's just the same as Karate Uke. Push down Chudan Uke. You never want to have your Bo above your eye level, otherwise, you have no control of the opponent coming in on you.
From here, Chudan Uke., push down Chudan Uke.. I am going to do it sideways, push down Chudan Uke. Now I am going to do it fast, here, block, here, block, push, block.
