I have lost my source of inspiration. I was groping in the dark, trapped in a monochromatic world, wondering what to do. I yearned for fresh colors, not the same old pinks and purples but radicals use, like sunspot yellow. Mix together golden yellow and sunshine orange dyes plus a half cup of salt and four cups of very hot tap water and stir it.
Now dip a scrap of spare fabric in the solution to test how the color will look. I love the way this looks. So I am not going to mess with it, but if you want it darker add more dye, lighter add more water. Put more hot water in a bigger container with enough room for a shirt to move freely. Add the dye solution and a squirt of detergent to help the fabric absorb the dyes.
Now put your cotton shirt in warm water and squeeze out the access. Put your shirt in the dye bath, stirring constantly for ten to twenty minutes. The longer you leave it in the darker the color. Rinse in warm water then gradually cooler water until water rinse clear, wash it, dry it and wear it.
Darlings all of the dye mixed together to get any color your heart desires, the possibilities are mind-boggling. Experiment with your own ideas or try these new combos. And that's Edie's Fashion Factory, remember what I always say, make what you wear and wear what you make or just go naked and stay tune pals because you never know when I reveal the secret formulas colors like Shanghai Red, Indigo young or Canadian Fog.
