Getting paid sometimes takes a little time. It usually -- if you are under contract with an agency and you are exclusive to that agency, meaning you only have one agent, then you will get paid sometimes in two weeks. They will go ahead and upfront the money. They know it is coming so they will give it to you, but if you are not exclusive and you have several agencies like I have mentioned before then you have wait for the client to pay the agency and the agency to pay you and that can be a long process because the main client, which is like – let us say it is a company-like Target.
Target then pays their advertising agency. Their advertising agent pays their photographer. So, you see how hard it is. So, many billing cycles coming before the model. Their photographer pays the agency and then the agency pays you. So, you see how many times that I had to go down and that is why it takes up to three months to get paid or longer. I have had six months. I usually wait a standard three before I start calling the agency. You do not want to bug them. Especially, if it is an agency that we worked with for a long time. The money is coming so I usually wait three months and then after that if I had not receive it, I will give a nice call or an e-mail and say “Hey, do you know what is like, something like that?” But you do not want to bug them especially if it is a company that you worked with quite often.
If it goes over six months, then I would properly apply a little bit more pressure, but you see that is why it is so important to have another thing in the meantime to have another job, or to be working for yourself, or also to work with many different agencies because if you are not – if you are getting pain after three months – you may need the money to pay a bill. I mean, I am right now getting money that I – for jobs that I did three months ago. So, it takes awhile to get that process going where you have money coming in all the time.
