Cristina: We are here with Roy Cox and I want to ask you a question about your career as a photographer.
Roy Cox: Sure.
Cristina: Take me through that stuff. Let us just pretend I am as a aspiring model, I have found you which is a great photographer to find in your first stab and what we are looking for.
Roy Cox: Thank you.
Cristina: A testing photographer or photographer in general. Take me through those stuffs.
Roy Cox: Some people they call us after seeing our website. What a case of a photographer what you see is kind of what you get. The work is already on the websites so it is not like there is a product beyond that. So a lot of people make their decision based on just seeing the site and then they usually call us. Some people will request a meeting because they may have a bad experience before. They might have only shot once or they know nothing about this. And they want to come in and make sure it is legitimate. People want to know where their money is going and they want to know what they are getting and they want to know—
You have to remember, they are not buying. Anybody can take decent pictures, but they are also buying me.
Cristina: It is so true.
Roy Cox: That is what they are here for is me.
Cristina: So true because they will with meet you and know your personality and see that they are going to help them behind the camera. And you are going to walk them through it. It is so important. There are lots of photographers out there, I do not know if they noticed, but do not even make appointments. I mean you just have to schedule a shot with them and that would be uncomfortable because I would not know what the personality is.
Roy Cox: Sure, yes and that is just as important.
Cristina: Tell me some of things—I am going to ask what a model should do to get to industry. What should they not to do?
Roy Cox: I would probably say that first thing that you want to make sure that you do not do is be have an idea for what you think this is all about and there is no convincing with you or otherwise. We have first time models that come in here who is friend—they have taken pictures or they have done this and then say this is it. This is what it means to be. I want my picture like this and the hairstylist. The work stylist, the makeup artist, there is no one telling them any different. They would not trust us. They would not trust us. That is all we do. This is all we do and it is does not necessarily mean that we know everything about everything, but we know a whole bunch about a little. Is that makes sense?
Cristina: Exactly. So if you will hire photographer, make the part anyone will trust them.
Roy Cox: Yes and give us that chance to take you through that next level. I would say the other thing to do is you want to make sure like I said that the pictures are in your potential market. If you are a commercial, you want to make sure that your pictures of a commercial male show, absolutely.
Cristina: Because a lot of people are commercial, but then they go and get all this classic shots and then that are not their markets. They are not going to work.
Roy Cox: And as far as that goes, what I do is if think a model is right here in the middle like a commercial model as far as I am going to shot him a little bit to the right, a little bit to the left and then they both come in their market. There is no point in greasing you up from head to toe. Put a fan in your hair and having you take it to your agent when you do target. That is not what all is about.
People open up their book. They show these pictures and they look great. They really do. They look great. I am not saying they can be improved the pond, but they look great but not a single one of them if you are a commercial model looks like a target add.
Cristina: Sometimes you look at their picture.
Roy Cox: It is locating like that.
Cristina: It is only different person.
Roy Cox: You want to make sure that your pictures are not and it did not reattached to the point to where you can no longer represent that picture at all. Like you are saying about how it doe
