How to Model - Photo Shoot Make-up Tips

Female1: I am here with Jen Finn, she is going to be my makeup for the shoot today so let us get started. Female2: Okay. Female1: You know a lot of models when they come to test shoots, do they, what do you like to see, do you like to see no make on. Female2: Yes, no makeup is good because then you have to take off anyways. Female1: Now tell me the differences between a lot of girls that are doing pictures sometimes try to do their makeup on their own. Female2: Yes. Female1: For pictures and— Female2: I do not recommend it because I know what you do is far different than what I do in everyday. Female1: Yes. Like what you wear like in everyday basis is not what you— Female2: Like the makeup I have on today is not the makeup that I would wear for instance. Female1: And a lot of people do not realize that so— Female2: And they also are like they think that you know just putting on a little mascara and a little foundation is going to do it which anyone who get under the lights like the rest of the camera goes off, I mean that is, you need to have, you know your face looks flat. Female1: Exactly. Female2: You have to have dimension and it looks flat if you do not have anything contour to highlight it or you know. Female1: Not that something you know with your everyday makeup occupation. Female2: No, you are not going to, I mean, because you do not know how to do it before so you do not understand. Female1: And what about guys? Female2: Guys need to have makeup too and a lot of times they do not understand that because they think you know I am a guy. Female1: Right, I do not wear makeup. Female2: Yes. Female1: Now, for a model that is going on a casting or she is meeting with an agency or a client. How do you suggest she does her makeup really natural like I always told models not to put too much on and just be really natural and basic like what are some suggestions that you can give. Female2: Just clean, just a clean polish look. You do not want to look like you are going to the club. You want to look real. Female1: Not some big mistake a lot of people make when they go to meet agents or clients, they look so done out they cannot really see what you really look like. Female2: And see, and that is when the people make the mistake of thinking that wearing no makeup is when but it is really like you still have to wear makeup right. Female1: So you still need to like do a base foundation. Female2: Yes, and you need to do everything that you would normally if you are putting on heavier makeup and just all in the lighter tone. Female1: Right. Female2: And it is always good to start of with a good clean polish look first and then if you want to do more dramatic, it is kind of harder to go from dramatic to – Female1: That is good playing, yes. If you start really dark— Female2: So like your outfit wise. Yes, it is always good to you know. Female1: Go out fragile. Female2: And it is funny cause a lot of people of it, they are, you know, if they are not wearing makeup sadly, they come in and let you know, like I do not like this, I do not like that. If you just have to see you know and understand that the makeup artist does not know what they are doing. Female1: Exactly. Female2: You will be fine. And sooner if you will get scared cause like oh my goodness, I feel like this is too much makeup, well, cause you are not used to having makeup line but you know for the pictures, that is really— Female1: That is a very good plan. A lot of people look at it and think oh God, it is too much. Female2: And you are like no way, it is really great. Female1: But then the lights kind of diffuse everything. Female2: And it is funny, if they do not understand right away and they definitely do it right, turns the camera around. Female1: Exactly. Female2: Then they are like oh, you are right, I got it, it is really dark. Female1: Right.
