Cristina: And I want to talk to you about your career. When do you start modeling, acting?
Darren: I guess it started this whole crazy business a few years ago about three or four years ago now. And I use to be in advertising and then--
Cristina: Nice little transition there.
Darren: Nice little transition. Realize this corporate world was not for me.
Cristina: Most models feel that right. That is what they end up being models and stay models.
Darren: Exactly. So my wife who is a model said, “Once you just try this, see what happens and spread your wings and fly.”
Cristina: That is good. And you did it?
Darren: I did it.
Cristina: And it is working for you.
Darren: And it is working. So far so good.
Cristina: What do you absolute love about it. We know the schedule and all that.
Darren: The schedule and all that, I do like the, you never know what is next. Sort of feeling which lot of people are very afraid of. It can be scary at times because you are at the mercy of call that is hope becoming sooner than later. Then you are the mercy of all your competition out there and you are—it is just a lot.
Cristina: Exactly. So what are some of the jobs that you have done?
Darren: Gush, I have done a lot of editorial staff with details magazines. I few fatherly roles and baby furniture stuff. It is random.
Cristina: And you are a father?
Darren: I am not a father yet.
Cristina: So how does it make you feel? Is it weird?
Darren: It can be weird, but you just have to be a professional and you got to pretend to be dad. I am sure babies going to come down to pipe for me anyways.
Cristina: And when you started this, did you think like a lot of models that have been—they have seen modeling on TV and they think of like magazines and editorials? But they do not think of like the guy--
Darren: Yes, I know. That is the biggest misconception is that people think of models as runway models in Babylon, in Paris and there is that, but there is a huge category of commercial front men, women and children. It is everyday people doing, everyday thing.
Cristina: Well, thank you so much for talking to me today.
Darren: Thank you very much, absolutely.
