How to monitor your Mac from your iPhone with iStat
Michael Callahan: Hi, this is Mike Callahan Doctor File Finder and welcome to your Butterscotch.com tutorial on how to monitor your Mac from your iPhone with iStat. iStats available for the iPhone, gives you all the up till the minute statistics on your iPhone and its performance, you could also download iStat server for Mac OS X. It's also available for Linux and Solaris, so you download this to your Mac and run it. Get the iStat server for Mac installed we are also assuming that you have iStat for iPhone installed on your iPhone.
Then we'll go to the iPhone so on your iPhone tap on iStat now you see it has its setup under Bonjour servers and then with my MacBook-Pro I tap on them and it shows me the status of my Mac, it shows me the memory, the load on the CPU, how much space is on the hard drive, how much space is left on the boot can partition, how much space is left on my Time Machine drive, shows me the up and down performance, it shows you the CPU is at a 131 degrees, Airport Card at a 120, even shows you the fan, so you can get all this information from your Mac on your iPhone.
Works beautifully and if you want you can go back and there is your information on your iPhone. So that's getting the information on your Mac from your iPhone using iStat and iStat server and that's all there is to it.
