Maybe your organization just had to have some lay offs. I know for any entrepreneur, that is really difficult thing. Something that nobody ever chooses to want to do but sometimes doing the difficult is necessary. But now that you laid off people, what do you do? I think there’s a couple of really important keys for leaders to think about.
Number one is to remain positive. If you’re walking around like the sky is falling, what are your teams? What are your employees going to think? And that gets passed on to clients and to vendors. Remain positive as much as you can.
Two, think about what your vision is. This is a difficult time but long term, what are you going to do to get to where you thought you were? Reinforce that vision with your team. Let them know that you are still excited about the future.
Three, also let the team know how important they are and how they are going to be the keys to make this vision happen.
And finally, with your sales, with your marketing, be aggressive. You might have to find a 100,000 clients a month, a 100,000 people to buy a car but most small businesses finding one, two, three new clients a month can have a huge difference. Do what’s necessary. Do what’s important.
And my name is David Wolfskehl and that’s what I help people do. To accomplish what’s important, to do what’s difficult. Thank you. Have a great day.
