Okay in this video, I’m going to show you how to request international shipping quotes from international shipping companies. Let’s take for example Carex shipping. The website is International.CarexShipping.com.
As you can see from the main page, this company offers international shipping for vehicles, motorcycle, boats, trucks, commercial cargo, household goods, etcetera.
To request the shipping quotes, you need to click on the request quotes button and you’ll be taken to a form that you need to fill out to get exactly what you need. Let’s go over this form and see what kind of information any international shipping company will need from you to give you accurate and valid quotes.
First of all, put in your name on here obviously, your email or phone number. You’ve got to have something here either put your email if you want the shipping company to email the quote to you which most of the people prefer to have it in writing or if you don’t want to give your email for various reasons, you can always give the phone number so they can call you back with the quote.
The shipment, just pick the type of the cargo you have. It can be a vehicle or a motorcycle, boat on a trailer or if there’s no trailer, commercial truck, motorhome or travel trailer fifth wheel. If you have a bus or construction equipment, household goods, commercial freight cargo, if none of these matches your type of cargo, just select other and you will have to explain what exactly as a cargo you have down below in the note section.
Year/Make/Model if you have it that will always help the shipping company to know exactly what they are dealing with. If you don’t have it, that’s fine. It’s not really necessary. Dimensions are quite important.
First of all the shipping company will need to see how big your cargo is. That matters because they will know from the dimensions if they need to use a container service over along rule of service and there’s the RoRo service, the price is based on the dimension so it’s very, very important to provide exact dimensions if you want to get the extra quote with their own rule of service.
Weight, it’s important sometimes it doesn’t really matter. The size is much more important than the weight. Origin/Collection Point, if you want to take it to the port yourself, please put here what kind of port in the US, say you want to take it to, if you want the shipping company to pick it up and take you to the port then put the location of the cargo, be it at house or dealership, etcetera.
Then put in the destination, put the city and the country that you want to ship it to. If you want to ship it to the port only, put the closest port to wherever you live. If you need door-to-door service then you have to make sure that you actually put the city where you want your cargo to be delivered.
Shipping date, put the shipping date here to let the company know when you expect the cargo to be ready for shipments. Prices do change from time to time. Recently we’ve been seeing a lot of changes during the oil cost so when you put the expected shipping date, you’ll let the shipping company know what to expect and what kind of price level to give you.
