How to Open Guard to a Butterfly Sweep for MMA

Those guys who do butterfly would basically – well, I am in the close guard; I want to try and tie their arms up. I mean I can grab up their wrist or if I can pull them in, and we are overhooked, so they can't strike at me, it's going to be better. Alright what I can do is from close guard, I can work taller, tight or overhook. I am going to shift my hip over here, and then I can bring my knees up towards my face, just sink my foot inside right here. And now from here, you feel more comfortable in underhooks because I’m getting my partner’s weight forward as one, because I can start to lift him up on top of me, okay, and boom, to start to work my sweep.
