?Hi! I am Kim Oser. I am a Certified Professional Organizer and the owner of Put It Away! Professional Organizing.
Today, we are discussing organizing your home office. We've gone through setting up your office layout, creating an effective in-box system, setting up your files, as well as your supply drawers.
So now you've got this tangled mess of wires that come from your computer and all your accessories. An easy way to untangle your cords is to use either a Velcro Tie, and you easily bundle up the cord and wrap the Velcro Tie around it. You could also use a rubber-band or a twist tie to corral your cords. Such as this. So anything that you have in handy can be used to contain your cords.
I find it's easy as to label your cords, so that if you do need to unplug something you know exactly what it is that you are reaching forth.
You can use something simple as painter's tape and just wrap it around the cord so you know which cord you are pulling, or you can use your label-maker and print out a label to identify the cords.
By bundling all your cords either by using rubber-bands, twist-ties or cables, you can see how you can easily wrap up all your cords and get rid of this mess of tangles. So by doing this with each of your cords you'll easily have less of the mess. And when you need grab for a cord it's easily identifiable.
So by organizing your cords we've now completed our home office organization. There is one more tip when it comes to organizing your cords, for all your accessories that you have, your cellphone, your MP3 player or iPod and your bluetooth, a cord containment box like this is wonderful. What it allows you to do is if you feed your cord through the box, and inside the box, you'll have a multiple outlet. So the only cord that you have to contain with is the one power-cord that goes directly into the outlet.
So we've now completed our home office organization. We picked the ideal layout, we've located our supplies and our hardware all in one central location. We've created an effective in-box system creating action items as well setting up a filing system. So all of our papers and the stacks can be gotten rid of and filed away.
You've also created a tax file so that you have a stress-free tax season and supply drawer and shelf and we're now done with to untangle that mess of cords so you can easily identify them.
So now you too have the tools you need to create an organized home office.
Good luck!
