Hey guys, this is Chris again from ClassicVWBugs.com. Another tip I got for you today here, you see, I am stripped down my 54 Beetle I just got in from Ohio, and taking everything apart to get it ready for paint. What I wanted to point out was, when you start taking your parts off of your car, say like the hood handle here, the outside door handles and what not. And they will say even the antenna over here. What I like to do is, it might seem kind of odd, but I go to the dump stores and I find cardboard boxes.
Well, I like to find the cardboard boxes out of the, say a liquor store. Well, the liquor store get boxes like this, and it works great for putting the parts in each section here. So you might put your door parts in this box, or put your hood parts in this box that I have here, and what you want to do - like say for this hood handle. I mean this is kind of a crappy hood handle, but once you take things off like this, put the nuts and bolts back in. Even though you got to probably replace this hood handle, but this is actually when you get the new one, and when it comes down to assembling a car, and you wish you have the nuts right there, that you can reuse them and clean the stuff and what not.
And then again, you just throw it in its slot. You can label them, you can even label the sections if you want, and it just makes life a little bit easier when you finally get the car back from paint, and you want to put things together and not searching around like a mad man in the boxes and digging like a - digging for forever, just to try to find the parts.
So just a short tip. I just wanted to show you guys that something I just kind of whipped up within a last couple of hours. I just thought that the box would have sections in it and always keep a pad nearby. I always do this to -- and I make my list of what parts I need, as you're taking things off the car that you're going to need. And then I always like to order from CiP 1. They have free shipping on bulk, big bulk orders, so I think that's the way to go.
But alright, that's the tip for today. Chris at ClassicVWBugs.com, if you have any questions. Take care!
