I’m always looking for ways to free up time; one way of course is to be more organized. I do that with the smart phone, this is the latest Treo Pro Smart Phone from Palm and essentially it’s a mobile office. You can do basically all the same thing that my laptop or desktop can do and what I like about the Palm is that it has the Palm shortcuts. What makes it a lot easier to get access to get access to all the features that I use on a regular basis.
The Treo Pro Smart Phone has Wi-Fi built in so it give me the flexibility to use my data plan or a Wi-Fi network when its available and to access that I simply just click the Wi-Fi button on the side and it automatically connects to the network that I want. There is also one touch buttons, I’ve got my calendar button right on the smart phone so I can keep track of all my appointments and get to my meetings on time by simply clicking it and I can get my full calendar whether that’s daily, monthly or weekly.
There’s also the one touch email button, if I want it to get to my Outlook email. I can simply click on that and you can see I’ve accessed the send and receive emails on the go and of course it’s a phone as well, so you want to be able to access all your contacts. I literally have hundreds and you know that can be cumbersome sometimes on smart phones if you have to scroll through all sorts of different menus. Well the Treo Pro, all you have to do at the Today’s screen is simply start typing in the contact name and it instantly comes up. You don’t have to click into any menus, its right there, I can click on the name I want and make that phone call.
Of course it’s a smart phone, it’s got internet access, I can also do search right from the today’s screen. Simply type it in and it automatically accesses the internet on the web to make sure that I get the information that I need. I also do a lot of meetings and you don’t want to be interrupted when you’re doing them. To silence it, you don’t have to go again into menu, you just got the one touch slider here to silence the phone and put it on vibration mode.
Another feature that I like is that it also gives me voice and text alert on the main screen when we happen to turn the phone on. So I know if someone’s been trying to contact me. You can also access all the functionality from of course the QWERTY keyboard that’s built into the front or use the stylus because it’s a full touch screen.
