Molly: My name is Molly and I am one of the co-owners of Nochi and it is a really pretty, pretty shop on Main Street Vineyard Haven on Martha’s Vineyard.
Sofya: I am Sofya Nadelstein and I am Molly’s partner in the store. Molly takes care of antiques and linens and I take care of fresh flowers and parties.
I am Sofya Nadelstein and I am going to give you couple of tips about how to organize your closet.
First thing I would do is to get rid of absolutely everything you have that you have not worn in a year. Take it all to a Salvation Army or local thrift shop. Make sure you get a donation and on April 15th you will get a little receipt for it.
With everything else you have left, try to organize it by color, it will make your life might simpler.
I also try to organize it by a season, winter on one side and summer on the other and if you do not have enough room in your closet to do that, why not do you invest into just a couple of plastic bins and put all your seasonal stuff that you are not wearing in that.
If you had a closet big enough, try to put a burrow in it, in that way all your socks and underwear and little things that is gathered all around the bedroom can be in one place and in the burrow—out of sight.
And a mirror would be great so you could take a look of yourself before you go out for the day.
One big investment I would make is a label maker. It will be your best friend. Every bin and every little piece can be labeled and then you will know exactly what to wear and how you get to it.
So I hope that helps, good luck organizing.
