How to Outline your Fonts in Illustrator

Welcome to plasticprinter.com tutorial on how to create outlines from your font. Before creating outlines from your font is when you send a file to someone else they're able to read what you’ve written. If you don’t create outlines, there is a good chance that when you send your file to someone else you’re not going to be able to read the font because they might not necessarily have that font. So we create outlines.

So we are going to create our outlines now by selecting the text tool in Adobe Illustrator. We are just going to create outlines, switch to the pointer tool and have that selected. We are going to go up to type. We are going to go down to create outlines.

There's also a shortcut you can do which is Shift-Control and O but for the tutorial sake we’re just go down to type and then create outlines and click that and you create your outlines.
