I have a fireplace that has two different colored stones. One is a deep gray and the other is a grayish cream color. The mortar is medium gray. I want to go into the browns. Because the gray stone is so dark; do I have to prime those stones or all of the stones, before applying the brown colors. What primer do I use? What paints do I use? Do I use something before the colors and after to seal????

My fireplace was put built in 1964 and it is very dated. I like a modern look and I want to paint this brick. From you video, you don't have to use special paint, only latex? What color did you use and what brand? can the hearth and mantel be painted also? Should it be sealed with anything

Why the heck would anyone want their nice stone fireplace one color, covering both the stone and the mortar lines??
