Hi everybody, welcome to LeGourmet.tv, today we are going to be trying a gift from heaven, chocolate and wine. Oh my goodness. If you got it perfect, the match is out of this world.
What we have today is we have 2 amazing red wine that go, work well with dark chocolate. We have a cabernet sauvignon and Shiraz. Both penfolds, we’re going to match excellently with our 80 and 70 percent dark chocolate. Now ideally, especially if you’re at a restaurant, this is going to make it a perfect match. And anytime your out you can order dark chocolate ghetto matches grape with a glass of cabernet sauvignon. And also if you’re looking to match milk chocolate, a great match with that is nice pinot noir. The perfect thing to remember is balance. You want to balance the weight of the wine with the weight of the chocolate. Dark chocolate is very heavy so you want to match heavier wine i.e. cabernet sauvignon or Shiraz. Milk chocolate, a little bit lighter on the other hand, you definitely want to match a lighter wine with it hence the pinot noir. So here we got a little bit of chocolate, a little bit of wine, I say let’s crack it open and see what we’ve got.
Now we have 2 fantastic wines here that are matched great with our dark chocolate. I am definitely a chocolate lover as well as a wine lover. So I’m going to enjoy this. So we got 2 glasses of wine here, we’ve got a penfold cabernet sauvignon and a penfold shiraz. So you want to always aerate the wine. Especially if you’re out with dinner you just really want to drink it but I do recommend that you swirl it around, make sure it’s open, it will match a little bit better with the chocolate. You want to take a little bit of chocolate, make sure you get it everywhere in your mouth, get all your sensations in your taste buds moving which are going to do with dessert anyway. Then have your glass of wine. I don’t think you could beat that at all. So this makes a fantastic match. I recommend doing it for your home party or even like I said if you’re out to dinner. It’s a perfect match. Cheers!
