How to Perform Yoga Child's Pose

Hi, I’m Chris Freytag, Prevention Magazine’s Fitness Expert. Yes, it’s time for a little yoga. Child’s pose is one of the best exercises for the stretches of your hips, your glutes your back and also relaxes the mind. So from a new wing position you’re just going to sit back your glutes on to your heels, top of the feet face the floor and reach your finger tips out. Open those legs up just a little bit and lay your belly down.

Reach your finger tips out. Relax your forehead onto the mat and stretch. Take a couple of deep breath’s here and child pose and just relax. Keep pinching those arms out, feel that nice back stretch. Now to make it a little easier if this is a hard position for you go ahead and place the towel between your hamstrings and your calves like this so you don’t have to stretch back so far. Now, reach out the child’s pose and again deep breaths and relax.
