Hi today I am practicing hooks on a heavy bag.
[Music Playing]
So this is how I am practicing my hooks. So how I do it? First you have to stand on this position, the basic position that I show you before and your knees are bent, are soft. You have to be ready to move and hooks. So it is not just an arm movement, it is a whole body movement. The movement goes from your hand and so it is a whole body that is moving and then the arm.
The other thing is that your elbow has to be in the same level as your shoulder and you are turning the fist in a vertical position like this so you are not hurting your two knuckles. If you would punch with the horizontal position you would punch with two knuckles and you might really hurt them. So remember that it has to be the vertical position.
So first you start like this, your fist is protecting your chin and then no, I did it wrong. I just did it with this position, with the horizontal position. That is bad. Like this, vertical position.
[Demonstration]
Something like that. It takes a lot of practicing, I just started so it is going to take me a couple of hours and couple of days to be really comfortable with this punch. And that is it for now and I will see you next time on Body Rock TV.
